Some things are easier to work through with someone else in the room. Our psychologists offer talking therapy in a calm and private space, with no pressure to say more than you want to. Many people find that simply having a regular, private hour to think things through makes a difference.

Sessions are unhurried and you set the pace. You decide how often to meet, and you can stop whenever you choose. Your psychologist will explain how privacy works at the start of your first session.

Fees are in our fees list, and when you are ready you can book an appointment or read what to expect at your first visit.

What to expect

  1. Your first session is a chance to talk and ask questions.
  2. We agree on what you want to work on.
  3. You choose how often to meet. You can stop at any time.

How care usually unfolds

A common pattern, not a promise. You agree your own plan with your clinician.

  1. First session

    Talking and questions

You talk, ask questions and hear how sessions work. Your psychologist will explain privacy at the start.

  2. Weeks 1 to 4

    Finding a direction

You usually agree on what you want to work on, and how often to meet. Some people start to try small skills between sessions.

  3. Weeks 5 to 12

    Practising and adjusting

Sessions often build on what you have tried so far. You can change the plan or the pace whenever you like.

  4. After that

    Moving on or checking in

Some people stop when they feel ready. Others book an occasional session. The choice is always yours.

Common questions

Do I have to say why I want to come?

Not when you book. This website never asks about your health. You talk with your psychologist in the room.

Is what I say private?

Your psychologist explains how privacy works at the start of your first session. You can ask any questions then.

Can I see a psychologist online?

Some sessions can be by video. Ask us when you book.

Can I claim this on my health cover?

Many people can claim part of the fee, but cover differs between funds and plans. Check with your fund or insurer before you come. We give you an itemised receipt after every visit.

Can I bring someone with me?

Often for the first few minutes, if you would like. Many people prefer to come alone. Your psychologist will talk it through with you.
